Question on state inspection criteria
I've been going through different exhaust set ups on YouTube to see what I liked. I saw one with the Magnaflow resonated x pipe and muff del. I know that we need mufflers so a muff del is out of the question. I know glasspacks offer something very similar to muff delete. Would the glasspacks pass state inspection?

one of the things that makes a difference of where or not you will pass, if the county you live in.......when you take your cars in for their safety inspections, do they do the "TAQIL PIPE SNIFF TEST" ?? or just the basic inspection?

then YES, they would pass instection.....as long as the state/federal mandated parts of your exhaust system are there and intect....i.e. the catylitic converters.....you will be good to go.

They would pass either way... adding headers and moving the cats/turning off codes is where you get into trouble...
Go for any Catback/Axleback you want... |

When I got my car inspected this past November it was just a safety inspection (lights, horn etc) they said car was too new for an emissions test. Whether it be true or not, it was a nice surprise

Thats all they do the first time you ever have to get an inspection. The 2nd time around the car gets a true 100% plug in inspection.

Looks like Hidalgo county doesn't care about emissions! Looks like it's a go!
Now, Magnaflow glasspack or Cherry bomb glasspack?

This is true... but you need to make sure you go in on time for the first one. If the sticker is a few days expired it puts them into the full inspection criteria...

I just did the first State I've ever had to do on my car this month. I'm in Tarrant county where emissions is required and I had to do a full inspection on my own car. If you live in an emissions county a muffler delete probably won't fail you because no one looks. As was stated above though, removing cats or EVAP codes will fail you.
