Any problems after Black Iceolator install?
I was just wondering if anyone has had any problems with their Camaro after installing the Black Iceolator that seem to have been caused/contributed to by the install?

no, real easy 30 minutes or less. just be careful when you go to retorque the bolts. and let the RTV set.

No problems here. You will be in for a surprise after the install. It was a day and night difference in performance.

Had mine on since around late November, early December, whenever they first came out and all has been good. Just an adjustment so the cover will fit properly but its all good!

I plan to just leave my cover off & work on improving the look of the engine & engine bay without it.

You'll be unplugging the throttle body on the front of the IM to remove it Ruby, (you don't need to take it off, but take it out with IM) and that almost always triggers a CEL. So don't let that freak you (or hubby) out.
You could disconnect the battery to reset it, or just drive awhile and it will clear on its own. Otherwise its a straight forward install and well worth the effort! |

No problems with the install. Just remember the long bolts only need to be torqued to 18lbs when you put it all back together. I recommend checking them again after you've driven the car a few times...but do no retorque them when the engine is hot! Wait until it is fully cooled.
Also, a 13mm ratcheting swivel head wrench is a super thing to have for the removal to get to the two small bolts in the back of the intake. You will want this. If you need detailed instructions, I have them. PM me your email address and I can try to send over the instructions. It is kind of a large file though. last person I sent it to had some trouble receiving it, but eventually he got it.

The only problem you'll have is.....the muscles in face being sore from the added Permagrin
Edit: I would suggest using a extra manifold gasket, so you can avoid the mess of the rtv and etc. but isn't necessary

No problems with my install.
Only caution I have is the torque specs for the bolts. BE CAREFUL.
