went back to school

so ive gone back to school for Welding and Fabrication. been almost a month and day one we have been Welding Mig and Tig. we are using mostly thing meterial 14-18 Gage steel and just moved to thin aluminum sheeting. we made a our own Welding table in class last week. were going to be making a full offroad tube chassis and roll cage out of a old ford ranger cab. build our own street legal motorcycle frame. they even have lathe machine's millers all sorts of cool stuff we get to learn and use. our teachers 2 of them were on biker build off back in the day. learning from some really sick fabricators. most our student end up in AeroSpace indastry last 2 classes all got highered by Space X. i am really blessed for this opportunity. and i think the best part this is the most fun shit ive ever done in my life. and with the skills im learning i might do a interesting engine swap for my 5th gen might be on the sooty 4BT compound turbo side of things

some of my welds week 1 we moved to t pipes and aluminum tig already things have improved alot prob have cut close to 1000 coupons to practice on of each meterial pics are a mic of mig and tig

Nice!
Your welds sure did smooth out.
I wish i would have went this direction myself. Loving building small stuff and was plenty excited when i bought a 110 plasma cutter to go with my 110 mig. Get some machinist knowledge along with it and what cant you build?

i am happy i am going back to school, i chased metal shop jewlery lost wax casting and some auto stuff in collage but never finished 2008 hit. its nice to finish what i started 15 years ago. tho the job i want has changed from paint and body work like old school metal workig to AeroSpace, as our teacher showed us your learning all the same skills to be a certified welder and work a job sit.

as were learning the Aero space has alot of tech savy people but they cant turn a wrench or use a tool. worse to worse every food production place has to use stainless steel vats or holders or mixers always work to weld cracks vs spend a few grand to replace. welding opens so many doors for work. no job go gov welding watter pipes for the state.

my prospects for work have been pretty much security guard work or stocking shelf's or cleaning offices, and on occasion long haul trucking but i dont like driving as a job and dropped my CDL last year for class A.

gotta think about my cars hungry fuel tank need that better job so i can pay it off and retire it as project and pick out a really good boring 4 door MPG king that i give less then a month before ive done mods to my next daily starting the cycle all over again lol
