As for me

I will never buy another Fram filter. Should have known better when I ran one on my AMC and took it off and put a NAPA Gold on it like others on the Jeep forum said to do. PSI was all over the place on the AMC.
Walmart is just down the road and Fram is the only one they stock for the 3.6 engine, so I had been using them. Thought about taking a photo of it when I removed it to show what it looked like.

I've only used the most expensive one a couple of times on the girls maxima. Concerning all the paranoia involving fram....still scares me. Won't ever go there again.

We're you using the base filter?

There was only the one at Walmart. I went to NAPA and purchased their Gold filter. Heard it was really a Wix.

I've heard that as well but didn't think about it

I wouldn't be, but some fram filters are better than others....I can't confirm of this but I've heard some are made with cardboard inside...but like I said I wouldn't worry about it

I would recommend switching to Mobil 1 or acdelco....pep boys is actually having a sale on the oil and filter combo right now
