Smoke it lol. That car wont even run in the 15's I bet. Off topic but I did see a Ohio State Highway Patrol camaro ss a couple days ago. Completely blacked out, with lights in the grill. Pretty cool looking. Sorry for the thread jack.

No contest. Odds are, even a 4th gen V6 could take a Crown Vic.

Here are some specs from Motor Trend on the 2007 Crown Victoria. It doesn't look good for the Ford.

Here is a link to Ford's fleet site for more specs. The Camaro wins.

Yes ... but keep in mind its only a minor improvement on the 4.6L V8 from about 15 years ago. So it will still be making less power than the V6 Camaro (maybe even less torque ... ), and have several hundred pounds more weight to deal with. Crown Vics were built to be tough, not fast. Heck, I bet my Grandamage would give them a good run with its 3.4L of Ram Air fury

It's a myth that police cars got special motors. At no time did they receive a different motor than a normal production car.

yea what they had was a police package. which was a better rear gear ratio, revised transmission, and different bolt on parts of the engine, and a heat exchanger just to name a few. the engine itself is the same. as your average grandpas.

edit. those engine bolt ons do give it a few more ponies

Acceleration wise, a police car has no advantage over it's civilian couterpart. With the Crown Vic that means slower than slow LOL. Actually had a 97 model, was the 215 HP version, but was the old "areo" style and was a good 500 pounds lighter than a new one, best 1/4 mile was a 16.1 and that was an unusally quick time LOL.

False. They had no 'bolt-ons' for engine performance. All the revisions to fleet police vehicles are for extra cooling since they sit and idle for long periods of time.

Are we still talking about this?

http://www.motortrend.com/roadtests/...son/specs.html

2007 Police Interceptor ran quarter mile in 15.9 at 88.1mph. You will win unless you fail at life

they had a different air filter and intake tube on the improved aero model. thats the only one i can think of off hand, but yes they did have at least 1 bolt on. i think some had bypass oil filters too, which would allow more oil capacity and less frequent oil changes.
