Man that looks really good I'll bet you shake on the inside when you drive that thing, can't wait to get home and start my build. I'll be doing all the install work, and purchasing HP Tuners Pro from Pat G down in Victoria TX. with his email support package, maybe I'll try my hand at tuning my truck and also being able to install a tune when Pat G. corrects it. Keep us posted.

Made it home to Ohio from Bradenton. Unfortunately it was a very long trip. Had a blast getting to Atlanta. Roasted the P-Zeros that were half life when made it to Atalanta. I decided to take my cousin for a ride, he was all excited about the car also. On that little trip the clutch started acting up and finally went out.
When I left Matt's shop I noticed a few things about the clutch while I was on my way home, but I figured it was a new clutch and I just needed to get used to it. Plus the power level I was at, it's my first time having a car with that kind of torque. A few times it felt like the clutch was slipping, but I was assuming that I was breaking the tires loose, witch I was loosing traction at 100mph!. Anyway, I was stranded in Atlanta with nobody to take my car to, I didn't know anybody in the area and didn't want to take it to any Joe blow. I called Matt and told him about it, he thought about it, we discussed a few options, none of them were cheap. So he called his buddy at Vengeance Racing, which I never even knew they were in Cummings, and they basically cleared a rack for me. I got the car in the shop off the tow truck at about 1pm. They had it diagnosed and tore apart by 230. Matt shipped the clutch overnight and they had me out the door and on my way at 3pm the next day! Matt did a great job of taking care of me in a bad situation and the whole thing didnt cost me anything except the tow and Matt is taking care of that also. Vengeance Racing did an outstanding job and deserves a ton of credit. Their shop was packed full of cars and their mechanic and his boss stayed late on Saturday to get me out the door. After a two night stay in Atlanta, I headed home again. Tires were pretty much usless so I babied the car all the way. Problem was there was a storm on the way to the areas I was driving through and it meant snow, sleet, and freezing rain. I needed to beat the weather. Ended up getting a hotel in Troy Ohio because the car was just all over the road. I did not beat the weather and almost wrecked a few times just trying to change lanes or pull off the side of the road( I thought I had a flat). I was going 35 MPH and was a hazard to other drivers and at risk of having an accident, especially since I was loosing control at 35 mph. So I stayed in another hotel this time I was only 2 hours from home. I needed to figure out how to get the car home. The weather was not going to let up for a few days, plus the time it takes for them to get the roads dry. Fortunately I was just a couple hours from home and called my dad to have him drive the truck down to me and we rented a trailer to carry the car home. Wow what a trip! Made it safely and am tickeled to death at the qualitity of service from the people that were involved! The trip lasted and cost more money than I had planned or cared to spend, but hey you gotta pay to play right?

Here is what the clutch looked like when we took it off the car! No idea why it failed but its toast.

Ouch, damn, glad you made it despite the trials... As I've told many others, finding the right builder tuner is so critical to being happy with the end result... Now the waiting for getter weather begins... What an awesome spring you'll have...

New Rims
We've had a bunch of snow and cold weather lately, finally the roads dried up. I decided to get the new rims I bought put on the car. I think they look pretty damn good! I needed to get the car aligned after the suspension upgrades anyway and was going to wait till the spring when I bought DR's for the car. As soon as I drove the car with the wider wheels and tires it literally felt like I had a wheel loose, it was so bad. Needless to say I had an alignment done.

Nice car OP! You need DRs as your every day tire. Problem solved. I am using 6 pound springs for 580 rwhp or so as my every day level and then added a boost controller to go to 10 pounds at the track.
Nice decision to get the diff/axles done right away. I had my SS towed home from the track. Now I have the ZL1 setup. It is heavy, but weirdly there is less play in the drive train now and the car has more of a quality feel. When Jannety installed my clutch, a Centerforce DYAD, he read me the riot act to drive 500 stop and go miles before getting big into the boost. I did that and so far knock on wood. (Edit: The knock did no good, the DYAD failed completely after less than 1,500 miles) How load is that CAI kit? I heard it might be. I think its a good idea to get the filters better protected and less likely to suck up some water. Did FSP merge your wastegate dumps into your exhaust? That is my next mod along with cats and a 3 inch exhaust for faster spooling. How loud is your oil pump? I can hear mine all the time. At least I know it's working. The 3" exhaust maybe will drown it out. AGP and FSP, two quality choices. I met Matt once at a car show in NJ. Too bad for us he moved to FLA. Given our winter lately, smart move.

DR's are on the spring to do list! The waste gates are not vented into the exhaust. I like them venting in the atmosphere. Love the sound. The CAI brings up the filters a bit, but honestly I only got them because AGP made me an offer I couldn't refuse. Oil pump isn't bad, I really only hear it when I fire the car up or shut it off. The car as a whole is a lot louder so I don't yet single out any one thing specific for being loud. I'm starting to get antsy, think I'll go tomorrow and let it run a bit. I'm still trying to make an idle video it's just been -32 every day! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
