Ordered a set of Hawk DTC-60 (f/r) and Hawk Street/Race (f/r) for my 1LE today.
The Street/Race pad is very similar to the HP+/DTC-30. I will be using them for AutoX. I will update the thread with fitment info and pics when I get them and some spare time. BTW - when it comes to brake fluid...I plan on running Castrol SRF with changes every 6 months or after every track day...whichever comes 1st.

The high temp stuff absorbs moisture so fast here in humid Flordia, I bleed every six months of street driving, too.

BTW, I meant corrosive not abrasive, DTC60 pads are notorious for the corrosive dust that eats up wheel paint, google is your friend You're also correct about the Mu factor that should also give us an idea about the harness on the rotors though.

You are completely correct and I forgot about that issue. I have seen OEM/painted wheels get pitted by hot brake dust particles. Didn't occur to me that was a Hawk specific problem.

If I remember correctly that was the material in the Hawk pads compound causing the issue.

Just to update the thread...
Swapped to DTC-30s for Sebring today. Some notes on the install. The rear brakes are the same Caliper as the SS Brembo kit. Fronts have two pins and a bolt. The bolt is on the Caliper backside and is 13mm. The Caliper pistons are small and easy to push in with your fingers. The hawk pad numbers listed in the original post all fit. Btw - everyone else probably knew this already, but the OEM pad is made by Fredoro

These same pad numbers work for the optional 6 piston fronts on the SS correct?

Thanks for the info!
I'll be getting Carbotech's. I ran XP12's up front and XP10's out back on my '07 RS4 and they were phenomenal. The transition back to street pads (1521's, or "bobcats") was very nice and I had no issues. The only semi-related issue I had was I was starting to boil my fluid, but a quick bleed at the track fixed it. And I agree that you shouldn't stick with one kind of pad because of word of mouth, maybe try another brand and see what you think. When I sold my RS4, I sent the track pads along with it and they had plenty of track sessions left on them.

FYI - just got home from Sebring.
I had full brake all day. 4x20min sessions. Faster each session. Ambient started at 75F and ended at 86F. I always had more brake than I needed. Good feeling.
