The Lap car is an EX-vin car that is in the collection. Not wanting to burst anyones bubble, but this is a Silver CTF Z/28 that was a mileage accumulation car. Being #7, at best it is one of the CTF road trip cars (Al has #1 [not pictured here]) so your #7 car could very well be one of the 6 here.

Glad to see you posted here, much more traffic than Camaro6.

Value with 20k miles is $40-$42k. That’s dealer price with some sort of used car warranty and available financing. Private party would be a couple thousand less.

Best way to figure out what the car is worth is to see what’s on the market when you want to advertise it. eBay, cars.com, here, autotrader.com, etc.

I'd say the value could swing 1 of 2 ways based on the history Marcus described.

1. Higher value due to the provinonce of the GM history as a marketing tool. And it being the rarest color produced.

2. Lower value due to 20k miles and it being used GM as a marketing tool... Numerous drivers. Numerous people in/out of it. Touching it. Beating on the car for demonstrations / testing / comparisons / etc

Autotrader shows 26 currently for sale via their site

Miles will determine value. CTF doesn’t have a big impact IMO. Is this the car from the ‘ring time video?
The car from the ring video would have a roll cage and recaros.

Having #7 of 69 makes it rare for sure but what is more rare would be a buyer . The Z28s selling in the 33k to 46k range with low miles are selling but takes some time. I highly doubt anyone would buy one for investment but a collector may want one to just show but won't be paying top dollar . I think eventually those people who want a track car will buy the 5th gen Z28 for track use only , and that is what it does best so why not. If your car has less then 10,000 miles and being a CTF i would think the price range be 40k to 46k range, but even in that range will be a tough sell now. When all the Z28s vanish or the only ones that are for sale have been Bastardized the demand may return and prices may rise .

Why would it have a roll cage ? I have never seen Z28 CTF with a roll cage in video or pictures .

Maybe not. Every GM pre-production car that is used on a racetrack has a roll cage and recaro seats. That protocol may not have been around back when video was filmed.

So it's used and abused by who knows how many drivers on a race tracks many times over. That is not a good selling point.

Just curious: How can you be sure it was the actual car used at the Nurburgring? I'm sure GM had several development cars, but maybe only one was sent to Germany for that round of testing.

I those cars and color.

Lower mileage silver with a/c for sale on camaro5 already, asking price is $48.5k. Even with a few grand off, it hasn’t sold.

It’s history may help in the future. Right now, I think most would think it’s been beat on even if it’s built to be. Low to mid $40’s depending on overall condition and tires.
