02' Firebird hood question

I'm soon about to purchase an 02' firebird V6 (F-bod is an F-bod right?) ? i have a 67' 326 project car and thought it would be cool to have the first and last year models. anyways i love the look of the transam hood on the 4th gens and would love nothing more to have an LS1 but a V8 isnt possible for me b/c of insurance (My dad "owns" the 67")but i was wondering is it possible to put the trans am hood on the V6? maybe there would be a front fascia difference but i just think the hood looks so mean! i know this is a camaro forum but i know some people on here have some fire chickens if anybody doesnt know can someone point into a direction of a firebird forum?

nope, no problems. the bodies are the same... save for one fact.

the 93-97s have different bodies than the 98-02s. so if you are getting an 02 firebird, make sure you get a late 4th gen hood to match or it wont fit. and unless you are getting a cowl or some other aftermarket hood, swing by a junk yard and see if you can find one for cheap.

you can take it to a paint shop and they can match it. also, something that helps when you need help from time to time on cars, find out if there are any local f-body car clubs where you are at and get in good with them. ive got 5 friends who work at gm dealerships, friends who work at parts stores, friends who own parts stores/performance shops, and in general great people that will help you out when it comes to modding your car. ive gotten a quote of $800 to paint my entire car (engine bay included) from polo green to the blue black combo in my sig. the only thing holding me up now is that im changing some subtle things in the paint setup here and there.

you can repaint a hood a lot cheaper than buying a new one in the color you want. esp if you get the hood used to begin with.

Indy definitely isnt the closest place its probably cheaper just to fly but then you dont get the lap of the track or show off your ride which is what i was hoping for but the gas for a 67 Firebird to there and back isnt lookin good (if its even done by then) so i'll most likely end up flying

I totally agree, the firebird looks 10000x better with the trans am hood than with the regular v6 hood. in my opinion, the trans am hood is a real major part in what made the 4th gen firebird look so evil/muscular/badass.
good luck finding the stuff u need =)
