ZL1 is a special car. In 5 years a 14 Stingray will be another used Corvette.

I think the avg. is for every 100lbs its a tenth of a second so thats over a half second behind from the start to try and regain.

Like other posters mentioned there are a lot of factors. The corvette has advantages in almost every category.

We had a few new Vettes show up at our AutoX events this past Summer and they were very impressive in stock form so I'm really looking forward to how that new Z06 is going to perform. A friend of mine has a new Z06 coming and he and I have been running very close to each other all season with his '09 Z06 so I just may need to add a few ponies if I'm every going to come close to the new one.

Power/Weight the cars are very close with a slight edge going to the ZL1. The Vette does have a few advantages with weight at the back of the car (trans-axle) and aerodynamics, but the ZL1 has significantly more torque. From a stop with traction the ZL1 will pull, from a roll I think the Vette wins.

Mainly power to weight and the new C7s launch like a bat out of hell. If you youtube them, you'll find the C7s are pulling 1.70 60fts and a few 1.6x ones as well on the stock super sport tires they come with. They just get the best launches and being 3400lbs and light, they just fly. The new 8 speeds are running 11.5 @ 120-122 mph. They're beasts.

C7's are nice I'm actually getting a Zo6 but if you only knew how many sad faces I've seen including a couple of pissed off women passengers of those Stingrays. If you bought the tricked out all options C7 and then bought the ZL-1 and did a few miss you would be even money. But you would smoke the Stingray easily. My wife gave me a "oh oh" when one came up beside us and there was another couple in it with a grin on their faces. You guys know what grin I'm talking about too! Long story short it wasn't even close! That lady though was ripping that guy a new one though afterwards. It was classic!!! He didn't get laid!!!

Laughing at all the people thinking they are getting laid because of a car. If you're getting laid in either of these two cars it's either because you are already getting it or the woman thinks you have money. Don't buy a car because you think it will get you a woman, that's beyond sad. Get a car because you want it! Stingray is just a whole new level compared to the ZL1, no comparison. Stingray looks like a Ferrari, ZL1 looks like a V6 Camaro to the rest of the world that doesn't know cars. I don't buy cars for flash anyway but the vette is more impressive and a better all around performer.

Throwing in my two cents since I own a ZL1 and I wouldn't go as far as to say a C7 Vette is on a whole new level when comparing the two. ZO6/ZR1? Sure, I'd agree with you to a point. But a standard C7 Vette???

Sure, the C7 is new and will draw more attention than other cars in some parts of the country but these cars typically attract different buyers anyways.

I mean, I was getting laid on the regular when I was broke and in college driving an 85 Maxima.

I think that covers it.

Anymore questions?

That pretty much sums it up! Great post
