SS vs SS

Went to the local 1/8 mile track this last friday night. its a parking lot track so good 60 foots are 1.8 - 1.9 with drag radial cars.

Raced a L99 Magnusson supercharged camaro, And the outcome wasnt what i expecting. my car is Headers Intake no tune. made 440rwhp/425rwtq. his car mades 553rwhp and i forget the torque. his car is full weight. and mine weighs 3540.

We both hit same reaction time. he 60 foots me by almost a .1 "tenth" and we pull clean through the 1/8mile and on the big end i barely creep by to win by .032 the return lane everyone was yelling what a hell of a race it was etc etc since we were dead even pretty much the entire track.

Both cars ran a 7.9s@88 and 89 the Track temps were 100 degrees Dry and bad altitude. I can't figure out why the other guys car isnt much faster. would it be all that weight?

This is w/ my clutch slipping all of first and maybe a second or 2 of second gear. which makes me giggle because thats power im not putting down that i would be.

That's the most power I've ever seen with just headers and intake ... Also how did you drop all the weight, your talking around 300lbs ?

No mufflers. Weight from stock manifolds and cats to headers no cats. No AC. Braile battery 8lbs no rear seats compressor removed. Rubber mat the carpet in back. Etc missing something i think
