muffler Delete ZL1

Hi guys, was looking to do a muffler delete on my 2013 zl1 but am afraid if i ever wanted to weld on the Original NPP exhaust mufflers the butterfly flaps wouldn't work like they are supposed to, (i would get different tips so the mufflers would be one whole piece). Anyone try this or would have any info let me know! thanks.

Better off just pulling the fuse F8 in the trunk so the bypass stays open all the time. That way you can put the fuse back in and they will work normally.

Do you have the stock H pipe or an X pipe? Stock cats? Headers? It would be easy to remove the rear cats and install a regular X pipe in place of the H for more volume. Dunno if you have to tune the Z at that point though.

I am running a set of Noweeds cutout diverters. If you want loud that will do it. When you want quiet you can just hit the button and close them. I am running them with no cats and a set of long tube headers. I don't think it gets any louder.

I cant touch the cats or tune anything because it will void my warranty, waiting until warranty expires to do LT headers, tune, and different pulleys. But for now I just want the car as loud as i can make it without voiding any warranty. The car is 100% bone stock from the factory. Was just wondering if anyone had done a muffler delete on a 5th gen zl1 to see how it sounded and if the butterfly flaps still work if i were to weld the mufflers back on.

If you've pulled the fuse, you've basically got straight pipes already. I don't think you can get any louder until you do headers, and then it will be loud af!

You have a 2013...bumper to bumper was 3 years and Powertrain was 5 years..

Did you purchase an extended warranty?

Yes i did purchase an extended warranty, but for the 2012-2013 years the supercharger was extended under warranty to 10 years or 120k miles if im not mistaken (due to a faulty bearing within the supercharger). I was just looking to see if a muffler delete would make it any louder or not really haha thats all
