They KNOW it would sell.

But later it says "also features concept styling".

GMAuthority is reporting it's being fast tracked to production.

I wonder if the blacked out center bar and "flowtie" will end up being a super low production run and end up somehow being "valuable" to a collector market years down the road.

Seems dumb, but Mopar guys go full retard over "one-off" and low production options.

If true then like I said in the other thread GM was well aware of the heavy criticism the design was getting.

Someone fell in love with the Flow-Tie idea and shoe horned it in there.

The HD pickups and especially the Medium Duty trucks must pass the severe duty cycle durability testing which is the reason why none of the light duty engines are offered in them without retuning from GM kinda like a police package or marine duty.

The 6.2 is a capable engine but the aluminum block is not as durable as an iron block similar to what the LSX engines are to the LS engines.

I hope they aren't making a FWD "SS" sedan...

Oh god I hope not. We don’t need another version of the stupidest named vehicle in history.

Wowee...a Brazilian Cruze Concept SS....Must be for the leftover Boys from Brazil SS refugees of WWII..

These concept cars are becoming next month's models world-wide....lol...Probably a Brazilian Survey again proved that a turbo-4 is now the hi-performance engine of choice...

300 hp out of that 1.4L is pretty respectable. I always thought GM would do just fine with a Cruze SS. The suspension was already pretty good, it just lacked the punch.

That's all very true. But I don't think it's the first time that formula has been tried by Chevy. I recall the debut of the "Sonic" I think it was...all the same attributes and hype...supposedly attracting the younger crowd, etc....All fell apart in a short amount of time...Chevy just can't seem to break into the tuner car crowd no matter what it does...

How about that new Camaro Turbo-4 1LE? The supposed savior of Camaro sales....Haven't heard a peep....

Stick with what works: V-8 muscle in a Pony class car. The more they try and avoid it, and try and tout something else as their "hi-performance" models, the more failure they incur....

Last edited by 90503; 10-25-2018 at 10:31 AM. Reason: I think it was a Sonic, not Spark...

This still has a pretty respectable following.

And Sonic did do its job, it was an excellent subcompact that sold well and brought a lot of younger owners into the fold. It's fallen apart recently because the passenger car market collapsed.
