Why not SS for daily driver?

The title more or less explains it all. Why not SS for daily driver? I'm sure you have good reasons, I'd just like to see some of them to aid me in making my own decision here. I see many of you choosing the LT for your daily driver over the SS, and then a lot of you choosing the SS for weekends.

Is the SS too much power? Will it be worse in the rain/snow? I'm sure that you guys aren't making this decision based on 4 or 5 mpg, right? Is the SS too noisy for a long commute? Is it a safety thing?

I'm lost............who is saying the SS isn't a dailye driver? It's a wonderful car to drive every day. Fuel economy is reasonable, roomy, quiet and comfortable.

The only reason not to is to maintain the car as "special" and keep miles off of it.

I want to have this car with low miles in 25-30 years when I retire so that's why it'll be a weekend driver. Plus upstate NY winters will kill this car (any vehicle really) within 6-10 years. I'd rather spend $12K on a winter car than $35K.

Uhhh... it IS a good daily driver. Only issue might be gas mileage.

I guess it really depends on where you live... for what you would consider a DD. For me, I have to use an AWD SUV to get around in the winter. If I lived in a better climate I don't think you could peel me out Camaro.

I hear ya there buddy. I'm on Long island. We get our share of snow, but unlike where you are with us, it doesn't stick, it melts. But we're still driving in the salt just the same.

My 2SS/RS is my daily driver. However, I do live in Arizona and snow is quite unlikely, heck...even rain is an event.

Regarding the noise question, I drive with the windows down. The engine sounds great.

If I lived north, I would still drive it every day....I enjoy it too much not to.

So why are so many forum members buying the v6 for their daily driver? Price? I think we'd all rather have the SS1 than the 2LT right?

When it comes time to put her away for the winter it's going to be tough :(. I have a '66 Dodge Coronet that I have to put away for the winter as well and that hurts so I can only imagine how much it's going to hurt to put away the Camaro, at least the Coronet will have a neighbor though .

SS is my daily driver....and as far as gas goes, filling it up with 93 is still less than filling my old truck up with 87, and it still gets better gas mileage....win/win for me haha

When I get it my 2SS will be my DD. Except when it is snowing or if there is still salt on the roads, for that I'mm keeping my Expedition.

I'm still on the fence as to whether I will drive it in the rain or use the Expedition for that duty as well.

1SS is significantly more than a 2LT, and a lot of people want what comes with the 2LT that you don't get with a 1SS, so no.
