Clutch replacement for OEM

2015 Callaway Z28 10,000 miles clutch slipping. 72 years old drive like it.
What mileage have you gotten before needed replacement? What clutch
assembly flywheel, disc and pressure plate have you replaced OEM assembly with?
Thank you, ELLIOTT

I stick with stock and drag race often...found this stock OEM on ebay..https://www.ebay.com/itm/LUK-CLUTCH-...wAAOSweW5VVU09

also use this method to keep the hydraulics cleaned out...http://www.rangeracceleration.com/Clutch_Care.html

Good luck!

Thanks for an informative post. That link to the ranger folks is good to have. Going to put that procedure into the maintenance routine on my Z/28.

You have a supercharged version of the car. So upgraded clutch is recomended for sure.

Just depends on what you want to spend. Monster makes some nice single disc units. Twin and Triple disc units available from Mantic. I would compare and contrast brand and clutch flywheel types for your needs and driving application. Lots of distributors sell these brands and more, so whomever you buy from should be able to give input.

I would keep the same mass flywheel if you're driving on the street.

These clutches have fingers that adjust. I recall reading threads of fairly new cars with slipping or high release points and they were able to take apart and recenter the fingers and all was good. If the car wasn’t hammered I’m not sure the clutch is shot at 10k miles.

+1
Would definitely have an honest shop of your choice check (measure) the clearance before buying something you may not need

Great infos so far. Thanks!

I also looked at different clutches. I am mainly concerned with lightening the weight.
Tilton and Quartermaster, for example, offer clutches with a flywheel with 153 and 168 tooth. Which one is the right one for our Z28? And how many tooth does the OEM flywheel have, does anyone know?

Thanks!

There are clutches with different plates.
What is the difference between a clutch with two or three plates?

Is a clutch with three plates better than a clutch with two plates?
