I want your Job!

I have been in the Marine Corps for 15 years so far(Aircraft Rescue Fire Fighting), but its my wifes job that allowed us to get the SS. She is a GM for a Adam and Eve franchise

I'm a university professor. My advice would be to take some college classes. Work hard at them. When you find something you love, then major in that. If you love what you do, then chances are that you will be good at it. Remember, you may be doing that work the rest of your working life. Make sure you like it or you won't like going to work each day.

That's how I discovered my major. I never thought when I started college that I'd major in what I did.

Also, don't over extend yourself financially... ever, especially when you're young. It's very difficult to get out of a financial hole. You may be able to get a really nice used Camaro in a few years. I didn't buy my Camaro until I was 51, but I was able to pay cash.

Good luck to you!

I work @Honda and we build the Civic. so of course I cant be seen in one of those (I would have to kick my own ass) I got me a more ego friendly daily driver. @$40k and under they are not out of the reach of most people almost anyone could get one. its how your family status/needs are. most people camaros are not practical and they either go the SUV/mini van route (which can cost just as much) or the 40mpg route.
the wife has an 2011 Dodge Journey which took care of my family needs and I have a trusty 1988 k1500 4x4 for my winter needs so that was really why I was able to get my SS.

Making right decisions, not a job in particular has allowed me to purchase a Camaro.

Paid firefighter and part time flight paramedic. Drove junkers for 10 years while the wife and kids rode around in the newer SUV. Bought a used 2010 2SS in near mint condition and 16K miles for at least $10K below MSRP. Even though I can comfortably afford it, I still had buyers remorse! I guess 10 years of sacrificing for the family conditions you to get by with very little.

I agree with Darth Emma's financial advise. Don't get yourself into a economic hole while young--or old for that matter. Personally, it's hard for me to buy anything new. The Camaro was no exception.
