besides...with an all M6 class...all the auto folks could sit back and taunt all the missed shifts!
Should be entertaining...

Was good to meet you at Atlanta.
Can't figure if your kidding or not, but I'm sure others think this way -so:

I would agree the M6 requires some more skill.

Contrary:
I spent many long months of debate prior to deciding on my Auto.

My sound judgement had / has paid off from my main decision factor-driving while injured.

I had incurred a major back injury lasting a couple months a few years prior buying my Cam5. Since I wanted to keep the car forever, I felt it was most important to be able to actally drive it whenever I wanted and not have to garage it due to a future back or knee injury. I actually inquired to many people with Manuals who said they often didn't drive theirs during the injuries-some even selling the cars because of long term issues.

Well,
sure enough, it happened. On the 9th of this month, I was picking up the two 3ft WD bars off the floor- and BAM- out goes a disc in my lower back. Needless to say - my life stopped again for the most part- drugs are worthless.
I had gotten the bars out to go get the trailer for the Joliet NMCA race-we were scheduled that week Wednesday. Thanks to my wife and daugther doing Everything (some new learning experiences for them)- I was determined to still go and deal with the pain.

So, all I did was drive the car on/off the trailer, drive the truck/trailer there(not fun), and yes- 'just put my foot on the gas' going down the track. This would never had been possible with a Manual ( I just start tying my own shoes again this weekend).
Most of us that take the runs very serious know that there is more to it than just that- to the point where the other factors can be just as important than how well you shift.

Thanks to the Auto, I was able to still enjoy this new passion of racing.

I have never regretted my decision, and surely won't when I'm 80 and still cruising.

Tim
No need to take this debate too seriously. It's a bit of an ongoing joke in our little circle of friends. We try not to let it turn ungly, not every catches on that we are just razzing each other.

try launching an auto with a reverse manual valve body, trans brake, 4400rpm stall on nitrous...with stock rear suspension.

then tell me how little effort or skill to driving.

Why does the street tire class only have M6 and not A6???
If the classes are done this way, is there a chance to just run TnT for a cheaper price or something?

not when its a manual valve body... you still have to shift up and down every shift. its just 1000 X's faster because you don't have to fiddle with a clutch.

I hope this is the right place for this.
Please put me in the V6 Unlimited Drag and the Bracket class.
If not in the right place please let me know.
Thank you.
