Setting up Nitrous safely
Ok so I have a 2012 LT and only have a Muffler Delete,Resonated X-Pipe, and a throttle controller.I want to set up nitrous as safely as possible. If this thing was to blow up I would be totally screwed because I would not be able to fix it as I am a young guy that is still a student.I would not do anything over a 100 shot.So what system is best for my lfx and what are the supporting mods and tune that would make it as SAFE as possible. Thanks guys!

Unless you plan to do a tune I would go 50-75 shot. I have used 3 different brands and I would suggest Nitrous Outlet. Depending on your budget, maybe go with the plate system. I would say a nitrous mini controller will help you on the street to help with traction and control knock retard. Also, get a wideband to monitor air/fuel ratio.

If the engine sees knock it will retard timing to try to save the motor from damage. Of course that will hurt power. We try to add more timing into the motor for more power just shy of getting knock. Usually requires testing to see what works best for you and your climate and quality of gas. For example, on track days I add race fuel additive to my gas to boost octane so I can have more timing with a bigger shot of nitrous.

On a $1,000.00 budget Hold off until you get closer to $2,000.00. That way you get all the basics of a safe system. System $600 - $1000, tune $300 - $500, A/F gauge $125.00 - $200 and a controller $150 - $400. None of this includes labor.
