Unhappy this sound is driving me nuts, please help

hello everyone,
this high pitched, light, metallic scratch-like ringing sound has been going on for years.
the dealers and garages i have taken to all advise me not to blow money off since they cannot guarantee results
this sound is driving me crazy and really is annoying

Case scenario:
Usually the Reverse gear will be the trigger and this never happens when under even the slightest load.
the sound only got WORSE and now happens on Drive more frequently than before.
Neutral gear still kills the sound.
Park, and it can happen sometimes.
Only happens at RESTING IDLE, never under load or when in motion? that last condition puzzles me.

recently, i have changed my exhaust clamps all around the car, i have the borla s-type aftermarket, and thats when it got worse. So i think that this must have finally brought me to the point where i can share this

Please help , o' fellow GM lovers

I don't hear anything abnormal in the video. Seems like normal LFX idling sounds to me.

This situation must be frustrating for you. How many miles on the odometer?

I'm no expert but it sounds like a belt or a bearing. Also, check and make sure that your power steering fluid is topped off. But power steering is usually a louder, higher pitched noise.

The part that's making it tough to figure out is that the Borla made it louder. Maybe it's an internal engine bearing?

I like what STALKER suggested. Perhaps a heat shield is slightly vibrating and rubbing on the engine, frame, etc. Those heat shields are allover the engine bay and can make replacing a starter a b***h.

I will try to inspect the heat shield, thanks for the suggestion
I have 79k km on there
The Borla exhaust was on the car since 35k
The sound was always there, but got worse gradually.
However with my recent meddling with the exhaust, I managed to increase it's frequency and volume
...
Sigh

Turn up the volume, you will notice a light metallic sound, it's not so light IRL , these mics do no justice and I don't have the equipment
Pretty annoying presence really haha

Mine sounds the same. It's how these LFX's sound at idle.

Makes me laugh at the V8 owners chiming in this thread. They sound way different than the V6 at idle.

Gringo,
Do you have the same sound? Does it go away at idle?

Double check your exhaust pipes and clamps. Make sure none are vibrating on the frame.

Can't hurt to have a look.
