Expect limited traction with the square tires, 8.5" rims, and all season rubber. It's the same thing Dodge has been doing with their scatpack - 485hp 6.4L v8 and they slap it with 245 all season tires. No traction off the line. You'll have to budget probably 2k for a new set of tires and wheels and that puts you right back close to the SS in terms of price.

I can get a set of rear wheels and tires for a lot less than $2k.

Most likely the next corvette Camaro motor will be based off the new 6.6 hd truck motor

Technically the new L8T 6.6 is a gen 5 small block based on the LT1. The differences being an iron block, slightly different stroke and lower compression ratio.

The next LT performance motor could be a 6.6 liter but it will likely still be a gen 5 based on the LT1.

it looks the same to me.... the cheek flaps are the problem. its like they started a front end design concept and quit for a holiday in the middle of the design; then went into production without finishing the concept.

Like a 1969 Camaro 427 4 speed With 15x7 steel wheels and small bias ply tires.
Nothing has changed. People that want to go fast have always had to upgrade tires and wheels since time and Memorial.

Still the most sought after and best performing C4, is it not? So I guess in a way it proves his point. I'm not for or against OHC or OHV, in the end it's the balance of overall performance that counts. There are excellent examples of both designs.

And what car...ahem truck, is this motor going into? If you want torque then obviously OHV has it's advantages over OHC.

Super duty. GM is making a new 6.6 HD truck engine will be interesting to see how the new HD truck market plays out, the 6.0 GM has been using is reliable but not too fancy or powerful, and some GM loyalists have been getting annoyed by it.

It’s going in vehicles that now use the 6.2 V8 and the 6.8 V10. this includes, F250 and up Superduty, E series vans , F53 chassis. Motorhomes etc...
Some wishful thinker’s were saying it might find its way into the Raptor or possibly the Mustang. I find that unlikely, but you never know what might happen when Dodge releases the pushrod 7.0 426 Hemi into car and truck production.

The high performance trims of most generations are sought after. It’s not like the C6 Z06 and ZR1 aren’t popular because of the cam in block engine.

Yep. Ford basically said they needed a big simple engine for heavy duty fleet/ commercial users that don't want a diesel but need more power than the "base" super duty engine.
