Accent lights
i have a 2011 camaro ss and it came with the fabric door panels. i purchased the silver painted inserts with the accent lights and the lights will not turn on. Does anyone know if there is another piece im missing for them.

was there a place to plug in the wire harness for the LED's?? it isn't very bright... only can see it at night. probably doesn't come on unless headlights on

yea there was and they are plugged in but still no lights

The door panels work even when the headlights are off.

Is the car a 2SS originally equipped with the accent lights? If not I don't believe the car is wired for the lights. It can be done, you'll just have to do some additional wiring.

The wiring is there but IIRC there is a harness under the dash behind the console that needs to be plugged in. But then again, that may have been for the ambient dash lighting that was never used. Some info in this thread

I was wrong in my above post.
Apparently the accent lights only work when the headlights/parking lights are on. Noticed today when I left my job's parking garage. I saw them turn off when my headlights turned off.

I don't have those lights on my gen5, but my girls car does and you really only can see them at night on her gen5. I think they look good on her car but not for me. I think you are suppose to have a power ballast for those lights because they are El-wire lights.. meaning you can't just put direct power to them or you'll fry the filiments.
