To Fbodyrs96:
Thank you for the links to manufacturers/distributors still caring for the 4th Gen F-Body V6. In my experience is harder and harder getting improvement parts/mods for this vehicle. That's why I pointed out the custom build option. To Legend17: I have had the same experience. A complete cat-back system changes the sound in a dramatic manner. However there is another fact which I forgot to write about: there is a distinct difference in the sound made by a V6 set up with regular headers, a V6 withceramic coated headers or one with chromed headers. Somebody else referred to a sound reminiscent of japanese/corean built 4 cylinders (rice beaters?? - no derogatory remark intended). I'm not sure if those engines sound the same, but the sound of a V6 with regular headers and even that of some chromed headers tends to be high pitched...no one will be fooled into thinking it is a V8. All the ceramic coated V6 headers I have heard on 4th Gen F-Bodies and most chromed ones do seem to have a deeper sound, plus there is something about the V6 SFI timing that definitely confuses people about the number of cylinders in your engine bay. I got mine ceramic coated trying to maintain low temperature ranges in the engine compartment (I did this and many other mods in consideration of the predominant high air temperatures and humidity of the area where I live). The deeper and richer sound was an unexpected (lucky!) and welcomed reward to my efforts! Best regards, The Flash

I got the full intake, headers, and exhaust on my 3800 and people always ask me if I have an SS. By the way totally worth it, will post sound clip later.

How much of an increase in horsepower? How much of a decrease in gas mileage?

with doing full exhaust you only get gas mileage loss if you cant keep your foot out of it. I had an 89' chevy PU with full exhaust and was getting around 19 city and about 21-22 highway. It willl only improve if you can contain yourself
