Supercharger - Making 1/2 boost

Hello Folks,

I am wondering if anyone ever ran into this issue before. My supercharger is making 8lbs of boost when it is suppose to be making in the upper teens the way it is pullied. On the low side you could say it should at least be at 16lbs. The blower has been rebuilt due to a faulty bearing that caused the rotors to lock up. This is the first time the blower has been back on the car. Has anyone seen a blower lose more than 8lbs out of nowhere? I realize it could be a bypass issue and such, but has anyone else ran into this issue before where it was the bypass or something I am not thinking of?

I'd definitely check the bypass valve for proper adjustment. If that checks out okay, I'd check that the installation was correct and there isn't a leak between the blower and lower intake manifold, or between the lower intake manifold and head surface.

I guess it could be some serious belt slip also...

Hope you get it figured out!

Sounds like your bypass valve isnt functioning properly. There is a line from the snout to the valve, make sure that is on by pressure from that line helps fully close bypass.

On another hand, if you're on Facebook, come join our all 5th gen ZL1 only group
