ZL1 pulley upgrade

Want to upgrade the upper pulley for more boost. Is there a pulley that I can use that will not require injectors? What else will need to be upgrade to run that pulley?

Some guys run a 2.5 upper pulley and a CAI on stock injectors, but I really think you should wait until you have the cash for injectors too. Once you crossed that line and mod your car eliminating your warranty, a little extra peace of mind will go a long way.

Why do the upper pulley? If you do the lower you have more pulley size options and it looks less obvious that it was changed. It is also much easier to install IMO

Jannety does the 10% OD lower pulley without a tune (use torco)

So with the jannety lower pulley I can install without a tune? How much more will it boost?

It doesn't what set-up or brand you use or who you buy from. But if you go over about 10% overdrive you'll need injectors.

You basically have two choices. Metco/Innovators West or ATI. Different vendors sell one or the other. Both do the same job.

Here you see all the pulley sizes(CTS-V is the same as your ZL1)

Check the classsified section over at the CTS-V forums.

I think you will be about 10.5-11psi or so. mine was 11.8-13 through the band but that was with rotofab installed which adds about 1psi boost.

HP wise the 10% lower and no tune is the proabably the most HP you can add in a single mod without doing anyting else.

I reall like having a CAI on as well to hear the supercharger a bit but at that point you would need a tune or more octane.

I would highly suggest not doing any pulley upgrade until you get injectors. With just a Roto-Fab intake, polished TB & Headers my duty cycle was around 86% I swapped out to ID850's before I did my upper.

If you run a different pulley (upper or lower) you're on borrowed time IMO.

Right I have a roto fab intake, kooks headers and full exhaust running 93 octane

Bone stock my car was at 93% duty cylcle. At 6200 rpm. Did you take yours to redline when you checked.

Yes, I forgot what it was at Red line, but we pulled red line down to 5900 rpms where duty cycle was high 80s. I imagine it was low / mid 90s at 6200.

I have stainless works headers, 10% lower, rotofab intake stock injectors.

just make sure you datalog the car. the injectors will be pretty maxed out though but it is not 100% required to have to change them. seems like it can vary a bit car to car. I will add injecotrs this winter though. it is something that if you do anyting else to the car you will need them for sure.

Sounds good did you do the install yourself? If not how much did you payfor the labor?

I did it myself the lower is very easy to do 2-2.5hrs. you need a 3 jaw puller you can rent if you don't own one. you need a toque wrench and a longer bolt or piece of all thread to press the dampner on.

I am sure a shop might ding you $150-200 though.

if you do it yourself buy the ARP balancer bolt it is toque to value instead of torque to yeild. I have done it both way and the torque to yeild sucks.
