Looks good nestled in there.

I've heard really good things on that Motion Shifter. Excited to see you get it back running.

I had a TH400 behind my supped up olds 350 and read about how much power they sucked up compared to a TH350. So, I swapped it out for a 350 and when I first took off, I couldn't be in the difference in acceleration. It was considerably faster. Well, it didn't even last a week before it burned up on me. So, I ended up putting the 400 back in a week later. I tried and tried to break that 400 but never could. All I had done to it was add a shift kit and I abused it for over 10 years went in 4 different cars I had over the years. So, it taught me a lesson. They say it takes about 40 horsepower to turn the 400 over the 350 but the 400 won't die on you. I'm sure yours it built a lot better than mine was for sure. Also, I'm sure yours spins a lot easier than the 6l80 too. I'm excited to see what you can do with it.

Here is a pic of the shifter mocked up. Since I have the clean neutral VB the rear exit shifter was my only option and it will require cutting into the cup holders on the center console.
I also plan on removing most of the mounting platform just behind it. That holds some gadgets that appear to be a part of the airbag system. I relocated those to the rear seat location for now.

Move all that stuff for the Airbags (Do you even need anymore?) and you got yourself a lot of room for activities. How are you going to deal with the key lock solenoid?

On the airbag stuff, I will remove it once the T400 swap is complete. Just minimizing the number of things that could keep it from starting/running. From what i’ve read the two wires for the key lock solenoid just need to be wired together to bypass it.

Holy Mackeral Batman,

I am sorry I've missed this build. Amazing work. So many fine touches. You have more patience than I do for sure. And I see a lot of similarities to my build in here.

We had the line lock power button under the cigarette lighter lid as well, but we used the horn circuit to activate it. Flip the switch, press the horn, if it didn't sound, it was ready... Press on the chicken pedal and dump the clutch in whatever gear....

How are you liking the solid rear cradle mounts. We tried those, and eventually removed them and went with the full (former) Peddars set up. Honestly from my point of view, the cradle mounts might have quietened a bit, but other than that who knows. I only raced in straight lines so it may not have mattered as much....

Ole Ben's a pretty good character...

I made it to page 13, or post like 168, I'll be back... This is one of those build threads... So much to look at and such attention to detail....

Good on Ya....

Thank you sir, it's a lot of fun and I really enjoy it!! On the line lock activation switch, I got that idea from the forum and it very well could have been from your ride.. so thank you!

On the cradle mounts, I like them a lot and wish that had been one of the first mods, but I was in denial the first several years...lol

Converter still hasn't shipped. Circle D shows 2-3 weeks for converters but they were also down for several days after the storm rolled through last week. SO hopefully it will ship this week.

Anyways, I decided to put the trans back in so I could check the driveshaft and make sure it fit. It fits perfect and very happy with the service from Wiles Racing Driveshafts. Ordered on Friday received it 6 days later on Thursday.

You can also see where I removed the center bearing mount and e-brake cable mounts from the tunnel. Things got a little wild and crazy and had to epoxy a couple of the spots.. lol

Shaft looks nice, was the price comparable to other bigger named shops?
