I'm glad the mounts are working for you. My butt wasn't calibrated enough to know the difference between the solid mounts and the urethane mounts from Peddars, and I was going too fast to turn, so there's that... lol...

Yeah, your ride hauled really well! Yep, that pic most likely gave me the idea to use the same spot for the switch.

Started working on the wiring harness for the transmission last night and going to try and pull it all the way to the wiring bundle at the front passenger side of the engine.
The normal route for that harness was from that bundle, down the side of the frame rail past the ABS controller mount to the firewall, then over to the block where a small bundle goes to the starter/knock sensor/oil level-temp sensor/crank sensor and the rest went over the top of the trans.

My hope is once I have the 4 can bus wires jumped I can remove the remaining wires and be done.

Yesterday I started looking at the transmission wiring harness so I could come up with a game plan on how to jump the can bus wires in order for the car to start/run. Started out with just making two jumper wires to go between the pins in the connector. Then got to looking and decided to see how far back I could go into the harness and eliminate wires all together..

Then, looked at the routing and found that it goes almost to the fuse box under the hood so I pulled it out and started tearing the wrap off.

Basically there are 4 breakouts of wires/connectors in that harness.
1. starter, crank sensor & pass side knock sensor
2. rear o2 sensors
3. front passenger side o2 sensor
4. transmission

Decided that I will re-route the starter, crank & knock sensor to go by the front side of the block and back to the starter. Then will leave the rest out the top until I get the car running. After I get it running I will shorten the starter bundle and put some new connectors on. Then will cut the remaining wires that are no longer used as close as I can get them without going any deeper into the harness. The can bus wires will be a part of the shortening and will be connected together as needed.

I think wiring = anxiety... lol

Decided to weigh both of the transmissions just to see if there was much of a difference...

6L80 w/crossmember attached - 184.2Lbs
T400 w/crossmember attached - 154.6lbs

29.6lbs savings! Add the 7.8lbs savings from the converter and thats a 37.4lb savings from the 6L80 trans & converter.

6L80

T400

Then got some trans fluid in the converter and installed on the transmission.

Next up was putting it in the car. Converter spins freely.

Will get the converter bolted up this evening and continue putting it back together.

Well, not any pics but got the car is buttoned up and was able to take it for a quick drive around the block and then a few miles up the road and back.

Short video of being in 3rd gear, dropping to 2nd and a quick blip of the throttle.

https://youtu.be/o4_bZYqInew

It feels very good, shifts are very firm and no vibration from the driveshaft at all. Key worry with the DS was that it didnt have a single weight on it anywhere.. oh, and its 4lbs lighter than the previous one as well..

Going to look things over again this evening and maybe drive it to work one day this week. Need to get an appt set at GPI then should be good to let er rip after thats completed.

Glad to hear all is going well. Glad the DS is working well, there are so many relatively unknown builders out there. These was a time people thought only DSS was their only option.

Car sounds great and responsive.

Thanks Joe! And yeah, really glad there are more options than DSS and some even have customer service to boot! lol

Here are a the pics I did take over the weekend.

This is the transmission wire harness bundle. The tan & tan/black wires are the can bus wires. Tan/black is can bus high (pin 10 & 14) and tan is can bus low (pin 11 & 13). Need to jump or cut/splice the like colors together to complete the circuit. Also use the orange/black wire for neutral safety switch or ground it.

For now all the loose wires (trans & o2 sensor bundles) will live in the cowl until I get it to GPI and tune updated. The orange wire is grounded to one of the bolt holes for the strut bar.

Here is the Lokar trans dipstick all mounted up. It's a nice piece, has a quick disconnect at the trans and also the handle locks into place.
