They are similar to the Hines Hex Vents I had in my stock hood, that aren't available anymore. They will work for heat extraction, plus you could remove the rear rubber weather strip on the cowl area under the hood, some of us have done that, it will also allow heat to get out while driving. Plus the vents and the weather strip removal will do away with the negative pressure under the hood in the engine bay that tends to want to "lift" the front end up under high speeds.

Thank you for the tip about "remove the rear rubber weather strip on the cowl area under the hood"

I just removed mine. Clearly I see some air now can flow on the back of the hood. For sure it will help a bit.

Any downside to remove this ? Maybe in rain ?

I also saw this = https://www.summitracing.com/tx/part...1hl-b/overview

Not sure it will fit in my 5th Gen Hood. The ones from racelouvers.com does not look aesthetically the best ones, but it appears to have the best performance. They do the wind tunnel to prove it.

I will need for sure a pair of those. A LOT hot air is comming out from the hot part of my turbine. I will need to install just bellow them.

Check image.

I am not sure about the central hood louvers. I guess for now I will only install those for the side. Should I also do the front one ?

Try TracSpec vents. I researched a lot after I found out the Hex vents were unobtainium and TracSpec are the ones that appeared to be the highest quality.

No issues driving in the rain with the rear strip removed, but I don't drive her in the rain if at all possible, and if you are referring to the front weather strip, no don't remove that one, it won't help at all, plus it cushions the front of the hood from vibrations...

Yea I only got the rear one removed and like I said I noticed already a low temperature in my hood.

But I am afraid in the future about rain.

I drive mine if I get caught in the rain with the two side vents. I also don't have the center vents. I also use a 1400psi pressure washer to clean the engine bay and it does not seem to bother anything.

I generally don't drive my car in the rain because my tires suck in the rain and I hate doing body work. With twin turbos, I personally would not make a habit of cruising around in the rain.

Very nice work duda!!! Looks killer cool! That will really help get a ton of under hood heat out for sure. You should be alright IF you get caught out in the rain. All the wiring and connectors under the hood are supposed to be moisture resistant according to GM, so they say. But like cracka says, I wouldn't make it a habit of driving around in the rain, especially if it is raining pretty hard, and with twin turbo's..
