Why have a warranty
I sold the most favorite car of my long list. White 2 SS Camaro with IOM stripes. It went to another dealer in exchange for a new truck. The new truck has reminded me that GM has problems. Not just Camaro.
When the Gov,t gets involved in anything, it goes bad fast! The dealer, it seems , dont want to honor the warranty that they so proudly boast about when trying to sell a vehicle. Looking further you all will see that there are great people out there at the dealerships.( some anyway) and the real problem is the GM company. They blow alot of smoke about their great american product, but they spend countless hours, and millions of dollars trying to get out of the promises they make to us.. Look at the long list of problems in all these threads... SHEESH! |

I'm sorry I have to disagree.
Also, do you have proof of our government overseeing the warranty department of GM? Please post such evidence. |

Well hello mr sunshine...do we really need the blame all this on the government? Were there no problems before?

GM has covered and fixed any warranty problems I've ever had without exception. If there's a MANUFACTURER defect, they will fix it. My problems have been few and far between.

GM has done right by me with warranty work. I've had issues with specific dealerships, but not GM.

I disagree totally. I have owned 5 new GM vehicles in the last 7yrs and every single time i brought one in for some issue it was fixed promptly. I had an issue with my certified CTS and they fixed an electrical / lighting problem after 84k miles without question under the certified warranty.
As for the Govt & GM. The govt does NOT have anything to do with warranty claims or any other day to day operations at GM. So they got bailed out, who cares. Ever hear of personal bankruptcy? Totally legal and in most cases up until a few years ago a person could literally just call it quits and walk away scott free from every debt that had run up. Then the kicker... Turn right around and EASILY qualify for some new credit not long after and make crap decisions all over again. (who do you think pays in the end for all these personal defaults?) At least GM paid back a TON of that money in a very quick fashion and still employ thousands of hard working Americans and others around the world. People seem to forget GM paid the govt back most of what it was given and still is. Sorry you feel different and didn't get the service you expected but, i for one am very happy with what i have gotten from GM over the last 25yrs. |
