Mark, mine started at 2k. If it's faint the best way to hear it is to take off the plastic cover, start the car (cold start) and put your ear up to the snout...just make sure your shirt doesn't get snagged in the pully! Some are loud enough the hear with the hood closed though.

My bearing went out at 16k. No rattle or warning at all.

Here's a list I did a while back.

The good news is if you do decide to change your SC pulley and swap to solid isolator your problem is fixed anyway.

My 2012 ZL1 #51 - made it just past 31k miles before I had the SC replaced.
It was installed this week - I'm getting it back later today!

Ha Ha... I gave up adding to the list a long time ago as there are too many now. It does provide video with sound so those evaluating their SC can listen.

Just putting it out there because I have a very early ZL1 that seems to have made it farther in miles than many of the others up here that were replaced.

Yet to be verified but it sounds like after the replacement ZL1's SC's may still have a 120K warranty!

Owners also receive a Special Coverage Adjustment for the problem. This special coverage covers the condition described above for a period of 10 years or 120,000 miles, whichever occurs first, from the date the vehicle is sent in to receive the new supercharger, regardless of ownership.

I would also like to know if the 120k mile warranty still applies to the new supercharger! My Dad had his done this past Monday. In and out in the same day.

The way I read the letter sent is just the way it reads! "10 years or 120,000, whichever comes first"! If the new unit malfunctions it is still covered as worded above. Anyone else with a different understanding please explain?

Has anyone had a SC replaced on a modified Z? My dealer is trying it. Blower is all stock, but being pushed 18% over. I wonder what GM will do

Mine was done yesterday and took about 6 hrs. I dropped it off around 7 or so and got a call about 1:30/2:00 that it was done and what time could I be up there to go on a test drive. It also only took one day for the part to come in. It was confirmed this Monday morning and fixed this Tuesday. I was very pleased with my service and drove it to work today.
