Well, it'll be a short stay, but Brandi made it home today... She is comfortably parked in her spot on the newly finished garage floor...

I did the floor in grey with maroon speckles and clear coated it... It matches her quite well.... She approves...

This is step three of work hardening the rear gears...

I also payed close attention to the oil temps on the way home today... With the new oil cooler, we were curious... and they never got over about 205... where it used to run close to if not over 250... I think the oil cooler is a big hit...

Thanks Bro, the minute I saw that commercial during the superbowl it had to be mine... I found it and posted it about 10 minutes after the game was over....and yes, she will be on the road a bit tomorrow... Have an appt in the am, and then some more driving to work the gears in... and just for me to get some wheel time...

For you Pete..

Here are a few pics of the newly done Garage Floor... I did the work myself, so it's not professional but I like the results...

Please note, Brandi has been in the shop for two months, and she is a bit dusty... I didn't want to hurry the wash job so I'll wait until I have more time tomorrow to bathe her...

There is a diaper on the floor (big piece of cardboard) to make sure there are no oil leaks... We were into a lot of things... the oil cooler, the turbo oil lines, etc....

Nicely done. I like that a lot. You didn't document it?

My garage floor is horrible. Was it hard to do?

We did something similar...the kit we had left a lot of the results up to the user. The appearance (crap or gold) was completely dependent on how much time we took. But overall, I thought it was an easy process. I don't know if Rob used the same sort of system.

Not really... My biggest problem was when you mixed the clear, they said to let it sit for 45 minutes... before applying it... and it did go on well at first, by the time I was getting close to the end of the gallon, it was hardening really bad... about ten minutes after I started spreading it... So, on the second gallon of clear, I waited about 30 minutes and it started hardening almost as soon as I started applying it... so it was slap it on fast and get er done.... And no, I didn't document it.... sorry... and if you can do what you did to Bonnies styling room, you can do this...

This was some stuff from Home Depot... I'ld have to look it up to remember the brand, but it was better than any I've used before...

Did you have to pressure wash the garage before?

Nope... I etched it with the citrus stuff they provided with the kit, Not muratic acid like other kits I've used... This kit has a citrus acid powder you mix with water in a bucket... I poured that out in sections, let it sit for a few and then scrubbed it with a stiff bristle brush... then rinsed it really well with a hose... no nozzle, just a flooding rinse....

I used a squeegee to get the bulk of the water out and used a fan to dry it really well... then applied the color and the sprinkles... which I had ordered on line due to wanting a specific color... Maroon... and let that sit overnight... i then applied the clear the next afternoon... I made my wife promise to not park on it for four or five days... and she didn't... There are no tire tracks or marks on it... There are a few blemishes but those are on me...

Give me a minute, I'm going to Home Depot to freshen my memory as to the brand
