You have to be one Hell-of-a-driver to drive a stick car past the same auto'-equipped car. I need to do some more research on how these cars react with good-sized converters. I was an auto'-hater until I stalled my car; after that :tweetz: I DO hope they offer an auto' though; they' be silly not to, unless it makes more power than the '90 could handle (then that would just be bad@$$ for another reason )

Please be joking. The Camaro has been a dated and bloated joke since the eighties. As far as I'm concerned it's easily one of the top five ugliest cars on the road today. In person they're simply hideous.

The big, bubbly plasticy look was acceptable two decades ago. Now? Not so much...

The Z28 WILL be a manual only. Real perfromance cars come in manuals only. Just like Z06 and ZR1. It just wrong to have a muscle car with a auto.

Really?... Not. Musclecars can have autos' and it's funny that most supercars pretty much have auto's (though they have actual clutches). I'll agree a stock auto' isn't as good as a manual, but a converter and shiftkit will make that auto' at least match a manual's performance, at least at the strip.

I always think it's kind of funny when someone walks up to my car, looks in, and then snubs their nose and asks why I "ruined" my car by getting an automatic.

Seriously?! You think a car is ruined because a $900 option was added that makes the car just as fast as a manual transmission car that starts off with 26 more horses?

I just can't follow their reasoning. Most people think manual transmissions are more fun to drive, but the 5 o'clock traffic where I live will make you beg for the automatic

Right. Most supercars have autos - that's the ONLY way they are capable of 3 second 0-60 times.

I see people comment on the GT500 not having an auto', so I think there is a market for a slushbox Z28. IMVHO.

No manual cars beat me at the track with my stalled '02 Z28
LOL .. but that still doesn't make you a real man

The fastest cars in the world are automatics. I think they should just because the GT500 does not. Some people just want to get in and drive. BTW my 2SS is a stick.

Alright guys to get back on topic a bit, don't look at that brief write up as anything special...as Milk said they even cited Camaro5 as the source of their info...they don't know anymore than we know at this point. As for the manual vs. auto battle I say who cares IMO...to each his own...it's still a Camaro and it will be badass regardless of an automatic or a stick all that matters is that it's a Camaro in the garage at the end of the day. GM has the Z28 locked in as their best kept secret to date IMO and the day they release the final picture of what she's going to look like and what is hiding under that massive cowl/scoop/whatever of a hood will be legendary. Until then...we shall wait and cower behind our computer screens with eyes and hearts waiting...
