Meh, I'll just drive to the Autobahn in Germany if I want to go REALLY fast.

My ex and I got pulled over a couple years ago and she had her radar detector in the car. It wasn't even plugged in, but the cop made the comment that he would have prolly let her go with a warning if he didn't see it in the car.

I was reading up on those Valentine V1's and they seem pretty legit. Did you all install them yourselves, or did you have yours professionally installed?

Couple things..
They're illegal in WA. It's just another $124.00 on top of your speeding ticket. As far as if they work....well.....I think if a cop is using an actual radar it might help. However, I have an instant on radar that I only turn on with cars coming at me in the other direction. Usually a car coming around the corner a little "hot." (we have lot's of curves in WA) By that time you're screwed because you won't have time to slow down. But...that's if I use my radar...most of the time if I'm working speed, I just use my laser. I don't even see a point of having a detector against a laser. The laser focuses on one car or m/c and so if your detector goes off...then the cop already has the laser on you and has a speed before you have time to slow down. Also, they can't detect our aircraft...and we've been using those more and more in WA. Just my two cents. |

Oh...and it's kinda fun to pace someone and then get behind them and turn your radar on and watch the detector light up...sometimes I turn it on and off several times just to watch it light up and freak the person out. Easily entertained I guess.

definitly getting the V1 I'd rather pay $500 for the best then get multiple speeding tickets and increase insurance.
