Yes. Thank you. Good call. I meant valve lift which is what most people quote.

It can be confusing. Some cam specs are total lift at valve, some may be cam lift BUT that is not the end all, there is rocker ratio to consider so even if a cam card says valve lift rocker ratio could have changed.

Agree. It is valve lift. In most cases rockers are not changed but it has to be calculated if the have. Mine have to so I know that. The bottom line is that most just put them on out of the box and have no clue. Then springs, cams, or lifters are blamed for any issues.

Been reading this over past few days and now I'm hesitant on a cam ... I would like to buy a full cam kit package from a well known vendor say on the camaro5 forum (lots of good vendors with knowledge on here) wouldn't they be able to provide me with everything I need including the correct springs, seals, rods, oil pump etc.. based on what cam I chosen from them? I can do the install and then get the car to a tuner for tuning and dyno pull but I'm a bit nervous about not getting everything needed and specifically size right.

Pushrod length, valve height should always be measured. A vendor can sell you a bunch of parts, but they can't send you measurements for that. They can tell you what lifter preload and valve height should be, you can measure and shim to spec.

Both sets of springs in my car were shimmed to correct height. Never had a set of springs just drop in.
