Raw peanuts am da' bomb, too. We used to eat 'em down South in Georgia and Alabama during the 1970's.

Course for the yankees, roasting 'em freshly and hot to eat is hella good as well.

Love 'em.

Stationed in Georgia for three years and there used to be a guy who set up a huge boiling vat on the side of the road and sold them freshly boiled.

I miss those days.

Well, we (I'm from NJ originally) roasted Atlanta nice and toasty, so we figured, hell, why not peanuts, too! lol

But really....BOILED peanuts? How do you do this?

gotta use fresh green peanuts or it won't turn out right. I never liked them til I had some about 5 years ago up in the mountains. There's this little roadside shack where they sell them, I bought a 5lb bag (fresh out of the boiler) and ate them all!

I honestly don't think folks who've never spent time down South know what we're talkin' 'bout.

Man, I wish I could have your addiction. Out here in California, they don't know what food is. I have asked my students, friends, neighbors; NONE of them knows what collards or turnip greens are, let alone grits or okra. I got a blank stare when I mentioned parsnips and rhubarb. Right now, I could hella dig a pecan pie, or wait a second, a sweet potato pie, yum, yum, yum. Man, I super envy y'all.
