Shifting problems (help)

I have a 2014 Camaro SS L99 (auto), sometimes when I want to launch from a dead stop I put the car into the manual option, floor it, and shift with the paddle shifters. But when I do that, when I shift from 1st to 2nd, my car completely skips 2nd and goes to 3rd and slows me down a lot. (I hope this makes sense) if there’s anyway to stop this, please let me know

Hold the stabilitrac button down until it turns off. Not sure that's the cure but it is a possibility

I usually have it on, so I should turn it off?

If you are trying to do any kind of launch you want your traction control off. It senses a traction problem and reduces power to try to prevent the car from losing control.

What actually may be happening (and it's in the owner's manual) is that you are starting in 2nd, not 1st.

If you come to a stop in M, the transmission will default to 2nd not 1st and you have to downshift with the paddle before launching, if you want to start in 1st.

BTW, the consensus at the drag strip is that the transmission in S is quicker than the human paddler in M.

it is best to not use the paddle shifters from a dead stop as it is almost impossible to shift fast enough without getting into the rev limiter. it is best to just put into m turn off all the nannies and let the car shift itself and all you have to do is steer and try to keep it under control....good luck
