The rumor I head was that the Z/28 was going to get the LS9.

Did you happen to catch the price tag? If they put that engine in the Z-28 I'd expect a sticker price of at least 53K

A lot of indications point to the LSA out of the CTS-V to be the engine for the Z28. But then again, there is no such thing as a Z28 right now.

Nope, the commercial did not show the price, but you actually think that engine is that much more then the SS engine, it's almost the same with a supercharger on it. Actually add a Supercharge to the SS and you get even more power then 556 without paying 20 more thousand. I don't see your logic

Ok....so what is the engine in the new CTS-V? I thought it was LS9?

The point on my original post is that I heard the engine that powers the CTS-V (556 hp version) was going to be in the Z/28......rumors of course.

Then again they basically put the V6 from the CTS into the LT so it's not that far fetched.

As far as price....I heard speculation of close to $60k mark on the Z/28.....again all rumors.

Thing is though....they aren't going to just drop in an new engine and call it a day. In order to handle the increased HP everything will probably have to be upgraded....suspension, axles, rear-end, trans, bigger wheels/tires, brakes, etc.

Didn't we hear confirmation of the Z28 a week or so ago when we heard about the new interior work being done for the 2012 model?

CTSV has an LSA wich is close to an LS9 but without the forged internals and a smaller supercharger 1900 instead of a 2300 on the LS9.

Umm... please refer to the LSA Sticky. There are a lot more features LSA has over LS3...
