Why you don't want an X-pipe on a V6

Unless you prefer a high pitch sound over a lower sound.

Looks like Gm already did the homework.

The Gm exhaust on the V6 has the h pipe design and the Helmholtz resonator already built into the system.

Hmm, this sort of goes against what most people know about the V6 exhaust. I'll watch it later.

Stainless Works dropped the X pipe in favor of the H pipe in their V6 cat backs. Yes, GM has the H pipe and the Helmholtz resonator for drone.

Maybe this is true when you run stock cats or high flow cats with LT headers. But I for one will tell you when running LT headers and no cats, the RASP is terrible with the H-pipe and the best thing to resolve this was the Magnaflow Resonated X pipe.

I have the Pypes Catback Mid-Muffler Exhaust with an X-Pipe already incorporated into the system. I like how it sounds!

Yes, which is why many are now using this in place of the H-pipe and going without any mufflers after that, including removing the resonators, which I am thinking of trying out too.

Also remember that X pipes recycles the gas energy in turn producing more power than a H pipe. Also gives a nice kick in the lower RPM range while helping with drone and raspiness.

I have the Magnaflow X pipe with no cats and no resonators with 2.5" pipes and the MRT V1 at the back. And I get many compliments on the sound of the car BUT I also have the turbos which changes the sound also.

You did not watch the video.
As I stated, Stainless Works changed from an X to an H to get away from the high pitch rasp. Contact them about it. From the video, H produces more lower, X higher however, it is so small they don't consider one over the other. I replaced my broken X pipe with the Magnaflow muffler (what is being called an resonated X pipe) , major improvement in rasp and higher pitch control.
