Question dumb question about the 'roof ditch molding'

I know the RS cars are body color opposed to black on non RS cars. but other than the coloring are they any different? i mean could I in the future have them painted body color down the line. and if they are different material on the RS cars can you order replacement ones have them painted body color and swap them for the black ones? I have not seen to many CGM (the color I want my Camaro to be) NON RS cars in person to see how well the black moldings are hidden in the dark gray paint.

i think they are the same, just one is painted. so you could paint them yourself down the road if you wanted.

Question

if that is the case, can they be removed relatively trouble free to paint than snap them back on. I only ask cause it would take a LOT of paper and tape to mask of the area to paint. I know that when i repainted faded and rusty outer hatch glass trim on my 3rd gen i masked off the rear glass and the entire "C" pillar around the area where i repainted the black.
