Here are 3 cal files for the optishift that I used mostly.

Drag strip cal for WOT lockup and ~7100 shifts (you may have to adjust MPH based on your HP, mine was just right for a 650hp car running bottom 10s.)

Street drive cal with ~7000 rpm shifts

Dyno cal so the car will lockup in third on a dyno and not kickdown to a lower gear.

I've given these to a few people by request, they may be a good starting point for someone here.

Also, I apologize but the pictures are long lost to time. Not sure what happened but they are gone

Anyone done this lately with cost breakdown? Was going to build my 6l80 but looking at about 2600 after tax and shipping. I can get a built (for my mods) 4l80 for $2000. After i sell my 6l80, FTI stall and DSS driveshaft trying to figure out if Id be that much more into it.

The pcm of nc harness is plug and play and much more preferred by most tuners it is $700
Adapter plate from rpm transmissions is $100
Torque converter and flex plate ~ $1000
not sure on driveshaft but pribably around $1000
Energy suspension mount is like $50 I think
Trans tune depends but around $200-400

I got my built 4l80 for $3gs and spent about $2500 on the other required stuff including the tune

Update: Recent 4l80e swap

During my 1st and 2nd 4l80e swap, I tried to type up some notes to supplement DC's original how to. This guide helped me.

4l80e Selection my $200 junkyard 4l80 lived through a 1000+HP dyno pull. These things are strong from the factory. Only mod was HD2 shift kit. Converter bolts failed on the next pull. This makes the swap much more affordable

Transmission Adapter Plate ADM no longer makes this. RPM transmission makes them. Just call and order it.

TCM - I ran a MSD atomic based on RPM's recommendation. You are supposed to be able to get cruise to work with this unit. My speedo works.

My Cooler Setup
chul Setup-
AER-FBM4412 -06AN FITTING-BLACK * 2ea (6 AN Hose to Trans cooler)
AER-FBM4432 -06AN FITTING 90 DEG BLACK * 2ea (6 AN Hose to Trans)
AER-FBM5013 -06AN ADAPTER BLACK * 2ea (Adapter to 6AN for cooler)
Ebay Cooler
Banjo Fittings – low profile and clear tunnel
~$200-$300

Schul Total cost ~ $3700 - $1750 for TR6060 = $2000

Shifter Clearance
After you do your connector cutout, depending how your trans fits, you may need to clearance for the shifter . I beat it with a BFH (Hammer) and was able to get plenty of clearance for the shift linkage on the trans.

Grinding

Schul – I had to cut the ears off both side of the trans as well, these hit my cross over pipe:

My plug sits just above the bolt hole for the cross member. So this is where I had to cut. I missed with the first cut based on pictures and recommendations. I will have it welded up eventually.-schul

Holes for trans cooler

Converter bolts

I mounted my TCM in the engine bay and ran the handheld into the car through a grommet in the firewall

I am trying to figure out the VSS and cruise control still. Any help would be appreciated.

I sheared my converter bolts on the dyno and blew a hole in that and my bellhousing (IE doing the 4l80 swap 2x). I did replace that before reassembly.
