Magnaflow or flowmaster for 3.8

I'm having a hard time deciding to go with a flowmaster 40 or 80 setup or the magnaflow setup. I'm looking for sound and horsepower gain. The car is a 2001 camaro. I also have to pass my emission test next spring. Any advice would be appreciated!

not a camaro, but I had flowmaster 40s on my '01 Grand Prix GTP, supercharged 3.8, it sounded great. I was asked quite a few times if it had a V-8 in it.

between the 2 magnaflow....but Borla is the best on the 3800's.

blowmaster only sounds good at idle and is worst than stock in performance.

I have flowmaster not sure what series. Sounds good at idle and up to about 2500 RPM after that sounds raspy. But at idle Ive had people ask me if it was a V8

I would totally take borla if I can get a good deal on it, and is flowmaster really that bad?

yeah yours sounds really good, and the rasp is common with the v6s I just never got a chance to listen to either one in person, only videos.

I've got the Flowmaster 80 Series on our 4th gen and I like the sound. Sounds great on start up and pretty good when driving it. Could be a bit louder/deeper but considering we paid less than $400 for it can't complain too much.

Only complaints are the drone at Highway speeds is pretty loud and the tip sometimes swings to the left and hits the body but I don't know if that's the systems fault, my fault for installing it wrong, or just the hangers fault. It's just put on with clamps right now nothings welded.
