Hey All,

Never really noticed this until last night - I was driving with a friend following me in his car behind me. I decided to "punch it" on an open stretch of roadway to see if he could keep up.

Upon flooring it, i saw a cloud of blackish smoke come out of my exhaust behind me (from my rear view mirror), It was not thick smoke, I could see through it - but it was there. Kinda like a plume of exhaust gas. It lasted for about 1 -1/2 seconds when my pedal hit the floor. I never really noticed this before. My friend said it stunk like exhaust fumes from a bus.

I had put a can of Royal Purple Max Clean Fuel System Cleaner in that tank of gas a day earlier. I'm wondering if this is normal, or if it was caused by the the fuel system cleaner, or if its a precursor to a bigger problem. Car seems to be running great! Never noticed this smoke before...

Thoughts???

Depends on how high of mileage you have but here is my 2 cents... 1) I noticed you don't have a catch can in your signature, so it could be that oil is being burned off from being dumped back into the engine so to speak.... 2) does it seem like your burning through oil? If your loosing oil with no a parent leaks I'd get it checked out.

Catch can is my next mod. Will check my oil tomorrow to double check the level. Good advice…

Also, do you floor it often? Or are you a pet throttle only driver?
