injen cut 1/4mile time in half!

Tonight I ran a solid time with the injen short ram. 14.209 @98.99 mph

And by cut in half I really meant .5 seconds faster.

I take it you are the one on the right? And that you must have made passes before and ran a best of 14.7 with stock set-up. The post seems a little confusing, just making sure I am reading this right. Also, I would not put all that gain of 0.5 on just the Injen. It helped for sure but there are a few other factors that would have come into play. Weather, traction, are two of the biggest ones for starters.

Sorry for the confusion. Before I was running 14.79's at 94 mph. It was a lot warmer than normal this week (75 out.) My only mod is the short ram running on 91 octane.

Need to see your original slip to know more....the two pictures you have above appear to be the same slip. Just knowing what your 60' times before were compared to this run would help a lot.

I agree with Keith, post the other slip if you still have it. Should. I have all 150+ of my slips.............

My guess is some of your gains are truly from the INJEN, however, I highly doubt all 0.5 seconds of it are from just the INJEN.

Again, traction and weather will play huge rolls.

I have a spreadsheet (imagine that Keith), that covers everyone one of my 150+ passes and includes the DA at the time, 60' time etc. all my mods are listed, and I am all over the map when it comes to Da or temperatures. The cold air is a HUGE help, but traction starts to go away as the cold air gets better, and vice versa. When it is warmer the traction is better but the warmer air kills the HP too.

I am finding the best to be around 50 degrees for where I am at. giving me the best of both variables.

I am extremely new to drag racing cars, but I have a basic idea of what variables go into it. I will be more informative with my posts from now on. ;-)

Absolutely NP. Don't ever feel ignorant with us. We all had to learn from somewhere at some point. Many of us are here to help.

I am the one who took over the 1/8 and 1/4 mile drag racing thread. So if you should ever have questions, please feel free to ask me.

I never raced a car until this Camaro. I raced my snowmobile plenty, but was a newbie too at the track, and still have a ton to learn, but I am doing it for fun and see what my baby V6 can do in the 1/4 mile.

Thanks for the help. Though racing is not new to me, racing cars IS. I used to race BMX for most of my life and recently got into taking my daily driver out to the drag strip.

I'm strongly considering getting into racing stock cars out at petaluma speed way out here in nor cal, but at my current financial status, i can't afford it.

Also, this was out at Sonoma raceway during their wednesday night drags.
