Lightbulb Shifter Knob Questions

Hey all, recently purchased a 2015 1LT RS Camaro stick shift, and I'm lookin to replace the shifter knob. I've heard you need to rotate the silver ring directly under the factory knob but mine does not rotate in either direction with a substantial amount of force. Any tips/ideas before I break the da*n thing off on accident? Thanks!

Grab the ring and lift up and rotate it counter clockwise. Then you'll be able to push the boot down to reveal a screw on the passenger side of the knob.

If you search you'll see some pics.

Here you go. This is for the MGW install but it goes over how to remove the knob.

Thanks guys. My shifter looks the exact same as the one in the video, but I can't get the silver ring to rotate like he did. I guess I'll try taking the boot off and seing if their is a screw or anything underneath

Thanks for that video. I still haven't given up hope of somehow sticking an old school 'T' handle on there.

It's the same for 2015

Check out the 6min mark in the video to see how to take off the knob.
