Readings look normal?
Hey guys, just looking for some feedback on my readings. I was out cruising on the interstate for about 45min at 75mph and noticed my voltage looks low. Shouldn't I be around 14v? Stayed there all day 12.5/6v, didn't matter what gear or rpm. What do you think?

Looks normal to me. Mine when battery is fully charged will run under 13 volts and if I go a week or so without starting runs at 14+.

I had the same question. The volts look low to me but I don't know what is normal. Not a fan of oil pressure in BAR, what was wrong with PSI? Is this some Euro metric stuff or what?

The voltage charged will drop down as soon as the battery is fully charged, and the voltage charged will rise as needed. I usually see it bump up to 14.4+ after start up for a bit after the car has sat for a while.

That oil temp and coolant temp are perfectly normal.

This is modern car with a modern charging system and the computer regulates the charging system as necessary. It's not your typical 14v+ while running all the time without a load, and 12.6 while turned off ..
PS : All of this info is in the owners manual .. "The vehicle's charging system regulates voltage based on the state of charge of the battery. It is normal for the voltmeter to fluctuate. Readings between the low and high warning zones indicate the normal operating range. Readings in the low warning zone can occur when a large number of electrical accessories are operating in the vehicle and the engine is left idling for an extended period. If there is a problem with the battery charging system, a message appears in the Driver Information Center (DIC) and/or the charging system light comes on. See Battery Voltage and Charging Messages on page 5-33 and Charging System Light on page 5-16" |
