i think the better question is who is backing out due to the gt500 news?

I am backing out and waiting for the 13 Shelby. Not breaking 12 seconds in the 1/4 was more of a deal breaker than the price. Still much rather have a GS Vette at that price.

Congrats to all that proceed. The ZL1 will be a killer car no doubt.

have to agree the not breaking the 12 second barrier is a let down and the fact that its out of date before it is even made is a blow to my gm ego so much that it may even cause me to go to the dark side (blue oval gt500 for 2013) heck with the limited numbers i might even be able to get a 2013 gt500 before i could get a zl1. price was where i expected although with the news of the 2013 gt500 its gonna be a hard choice and maybe even a family fight (if i go ford oops i said the four letter word) maybe not being able to get a 2012 zl1 has been a blessing ( i have been promised the 1st 2013 zl1 so maybe gm will put the 2300 series charger on it for 2013 and i will get the best of both worlds and still be gm) time will tell...still tough being kicked in the face by the competition sucks and when i go to work today i will hear it from the ford guys hows that saying go "if you cant beat them join them" i just might have to unless gm revives the zl1 for 2013

Maybe "official numbers" might have something to do with insurance considerations? They did it in the late 60s/early 70s I know.

Not saying it is or isn't...but it's a theory.

I'm waiting for a call back from the GM or sales rep from my dealership to find out what the "adjusted" price will be. Might find out somethiing today. The price is ressonable at MSRP, but the market adjustment might push it over the top.
