Looking at a couple of 1LE's
I'm looking at 2 2014 1LE's. New to the 5th gens had a bunch (6) 4th gens.
one is a SS1 dark red and has NPP the other is a SS2 black has recaros but no NPP I prefer the red (had a lot of black cars they suck trying to keep clean) I also prefer the cloth seats at the track. My questions are does the NPP offer any real performance improvement? If I want to install recaro seats what model seat should I look for? How do I determine which seats will fit in a Camaro? Thanks |

There is no noticeable performance gain with the NPP but it does sound a lot better. If it were me Id choose the one with the recaros, especially if you are planning on tracking the car. I have the standard seats in mine but have ridden in one with recaros and its night and day between the two.

I do not believe that the NPP on the 5th Gen has any measurable performance improvement over the base exhaust. I have it on my 1LE and I get compliments about it all of the time and I can control its quiet/loud mode with the Dashlogic OBD2 Display Controller and there are other systems that allow you to do the same. I think it's very worthwhile.

If you're planning on tracking it find one with recaros. The standard seats suck.

Agreed. Get the Recaro's. You can retrofit the NPP w/o much of a headache.

The Recaros are nice and look great in the car. They are really comfortable to. I wish they were lighter though. They are heavy as hell. Looking at moding mine; to ditch the power seat stuff and use a different track system. (Just looking into it at this time with hope to be able to drop weight off the seating.) I think they are heavy due to the power stuff.
Like these guys told you OP, the NPP can be added on very cost efficient later. The Recaros would cost way to much after the fact. Look for a car with the Recaros already in.

Recaros are a huge upgrade in terms of performance and comfort. NPP sounds awesome but performance is minimal. You could either retrofit with takeoffs from the site pretty easy (but if others are removing NPP in favor of aftermarket exhaust... well you get i'm saying...)
The recaros are the sweet spot where the insert is alcantara, which feels really nice, but the outside bolsters are leather. Also, 2SS comes with a few more goodies than 1SS but that's all personal preference.

Get the red with NPP... retrofit is very hard since you have to run vacuum lines to the engine from rear exhaust valves. Recaros look cool and are nice but not must have, you can always buy em and two bolt per seat retrofit.
NPP reduces back pressure by the way, on corvette 6hp and few ft lbs of torque, its also lighter by a few pounds, the recaros are heavier. Also 1ss over 2ss.... if the 2ss has a sunroof dont do it !!! Lol

Exactly what I was thinking to. Also then I won't have an air bag issue to solve. Just gonna ditch the electric motor stuff and add non power manual seat stuff.Last time I had the recaros out for the rear seat delete I was surprised how heavy they were.
