Just cause it ia an AT does not make it an L99 in a Z28....

I think the group wanting a lighter weight 5th Gen of any variant is a bit more numerous than we seem. GM engineers realized a long time ago that this car wans't going to be light and since weight loss is expensive, more power from a supercharged engine already on the production shelf isn't. So we will likely get a Z28 packing more advertised power than a GT500 but will probalby spot the Dearborn rival by 150lb + on the scales. I can't see the Z28 losing any weight over the SS by adding the LSA, suspension and CTS-V brakes.

A more svelt Camaro will have to be top priority for the 6th Gen.
