Precisely, normally referred to as depreciation, but it's a personal choice and they will be available much cheaper.

Dealers can ask whatever they want and $55k is a good asking price on a $75k vehicle. My first offer would be $45k cash and negotiate from there as low mi comps are 40-43k.

Gone are the days of buying a brand new full-size 4x4 for $6,000. Is $70k a lot? Certainly. Personally, I was expecting it to cost more, so I'm content with this price.
I agree. Steep price, sure, but definitely worth every penny for what you get. The car has super-car performance for a fraction of the price.

Reminds me of the story of the high priced 1969 ZL1s which didn't sell good, being twice the price of a similar camaro. And the engines had issues too.
The story differs in that the 1969 ZL1s are worth a bundle now, the Z28's won't be I believe. In large part because it was a pinnacle for performance for many years, unlike the 5th Z28s, or ZL1s of today.

I wince at those prices. Saw Tahoe's listing at more $ at the dealership, so I'd rather get the Camaro.

It is a lot of car for the money, but that is ALOT of money! I'm just glad they didn't call it a Z/28 or I'd have to buy one! P.S. my wife's Denali XL stickers for 80k! I'll stick with my 15 Z!

That ZL1 1LE will be worth a lot when I am old with more money in my account than I can ever spend!! Just hang around 36 years and sell it to me for double sticker.

Unfortunately the muscle cars of today are not like the cars of the 60s. They are more like computers now. In a few years completely outdated. I don’t think any mass production vehicle will increase in value. Only decline. Look at the z28. They were selling for low 50s brand new the last year. I love the zl1 1le but it will be 20% off end of next year and the prices with drop drastically. Love the car but bad investment If you are looking ROA (return on asset).

Just my thoughts

sadly I agree with you, all cars today are a liability, not an asset. if you factor in maintenance, insurance, tax, etc. there is no way we are turning profit on our toys of today. But they sure are fun.

What's going on with Camaro5, it has been weeks since someone said they were buying a camaro as an investment

I'm looking into the 2018 ZL1, price so far is $65K. The only issue is I want the 10 speed auto and the rear carbon fiber spoiler but the spoiler only comes with the 1LE package with only offers the 6 speed manual and adds about $7k to the price. The 1LE does come with the adjustable sports suspension but I really don't need it.
