Yes front and rear tires need to be close to the same diameter to the computer will think something is spinning or sliding. This will cause the traction control to freak out, light up the instrument panel like a Christmas tree and the car goes into a limp mode. No way that I have seen to reprogram to get away from this. 275/40R20 front and 315/35R35 rear are the same diameter.

Width does not equal diameter. You could put a 445/30/20(if there ever was such a thing) width tire back there, as long as you have the correct diameter front to back, it wouldn't matter. as for "limp mode" I run a 325/45/18 slick rear set up with a 245/35/20 front set up, and the car throws the stabilitrack and shuts down the ABS, and car still runs fine. Just pull a couple fuses for racing and not a problem to be had.

but width effects diameter. Its the aspect ratio in tire size. For example, in a size P215/65 R15 tire, the 65 means that the height is equal to 65% of the tire's width. The bigger the aspect ratio, the bigger the tire's sidewall will be. the wider the tire the lower the aspect ratio has to be to have to same diameter. so if you go super wide, the tire is going to be very low profile

Are you SURE that car is wearing 335's? Looking at the photo, they don't seem to stick out any more than my 315's which I have on my stock ZL1 11" polished rims.

As someone pointed out, it might depend on the tire brand, etc.

Mine are Michelin Pilot Super Sport K2's I believe. With the PSS's, IIRC, they can be had in either a K1 or K2, with the difference being in the width/depth of the tread.

One of them has a wider tread width, but a lesser tread depth, the other has a slightly narrower tread width but a greater tread depth, so maybe these are some brand of 335, but they just don't look any wider than my 315's.

335 are only about an inch wider than 315 so thats 1/2 inch on each side. its really not that much widers

So question...

Are you guys in the 720 to 760 rwhp range on a street rim/tire combo that actually can hook from a dig?

I made 723 rwhp pump gas and 760 rwhp E85, so I'm looking for a wheel and tire combo that'll stick good.

I don't want to die in this thing....

I have the same rims for summer time use. Everyone compliments them and always say how much they "light up" the car.

Those stick out pretty far. I'd be afraid of throwing up rocks and chipping the paint all to heck!
