Well, you my friend can you have done that and I must say you were impressive for your first time out. I know you were disappointed with not reaching your goal but you can take comfort in knowing that you were standing at the doorstep of 200MPH. Many people have attempted this for years and not gotten close to what you achieved in TWO Passes!

Can't wait for the next mile and hopefully your schedule will line up so you can crush that record and I can watch.
Sam, thanks for the kind words, and I understand about Nathans Football... No apologies needed.

I hope you do make it out next time, if my schedule permits, the record will fall and the bar Will be raised... Corey has a plan and if he builds it, I'll drive it...

Absolutely, I may have to go to a taller gear or raise the rev limiter next time out... We should be able to go 220+ with the 3.07s. First and second are pretty worthless with this power level... Even with first allowing me to go over 70 mph...heck, I spun them in 5th at 190... Need better tires...

Might borrow a set of nascar tires while no one is looking

See my edit? Could see something leave the tail of the car at the 2nd hay bail... I think I saw a puff right after passing the building too. Man, that would have been a fine run

The puff at the building is when the head gasket blew, and I think the next puff we see is when the coolant system let go... We over pressurized it and blew off a hose....

If you listen to the sound before and after the building, there is certainly a different note, and the high speed popping is blowing from the cylinder through the blown out gasket... Today, I reached down between the number 1 & 3 header pipes towards the number 5 cylinder area, and there was a sharp shard of gasket sticking out... From about the area behind the bldg to the finish line the car was slowing down... The guys out there said they heard a loud bang, I just heard a pop... It's a little noisier in the car I guess...

In spite of the head gasket issue,

I have to say I absolutely LOVE this car... Corey and lots of others have built an absolute Animal... I wish I had the words to describe the raw power, the brutal acceleration... the utter stability... Even at 200 mph, this car is easy to drive... It requires 110% concentration, but there are no heavy driver inputs required, and it just plants and Hauls Ass... If we get the tire spin handled, which will always be an issue but we can certainly improve it, Brandi will be OMGWTFBBQ fast....

I'm in the process of compiling a list of all the vendors and the main general members that have contributed... and so many of them have posted in the thread... if they helped in no other way than suggestions and offers of encouragement...

You were moving so fast, and they were far enough away, you were way ahead of the audio... I was expecting to see an F15 show up it sure does sound good at-speed.

Sounds like you got bit hard. Took the bait, hook, line and sinker...1/4 mile just ain't far enough... imagine Bonnevil... I better shut up now

Congratulations, it must have been a blast. Sorry to hear about your car, but in the grand scheme of things it could have been much worse. Hopefully I can make it out to the Texas mile sometime. What kind of power are you making?

Corey would skin me if I suggested putting this car on the salt... I can assure that will never occur.

It was a huge blast... The power levels are kind of close hold right now, sorry, but it was a lot... Well in excess of 1000 RWHP

Generally speaking it should cut your speed in half once it catchs and throw your foward into the belts. Kinda the reverse G's to the launch.

No, you didn't get the record, but you participated, had a safe run (it could have been WAAAAAAAAAAAAY worse with pops and coolant under the rear tire..) So overall a success.

You ran 197 which is nothing to sneeze at and now you can break 200 and set the record next time out. Happiness is something to look forward to.

We ran at LOTO 3 years with the boats before we broke 200, and kept upping the number each year. You can do the same. Each time you can do it just a little faster and a little better.

I predict MANY 200+ runs for you...

You do us all at Camaro5 proud !!

So, I got my edited video uploaded

I had originally planned on adding a soundtrack, but since both cameras were inside the car and both windows were up, the raw audio was all the soundtrack that was needed.

Enjoy!
